We are number one in Ireland for digital colour press sales

The digital print market in Ireland continues to be a highly competitive space as technologies advance and customer requirements evolve. At Ricoh Ireland, we are proud to be at the forefront of technological advancement in the print industry and after an exceptional 2016, we are delighted to announce that we are now the top provider of digital colour production printers in the Irish market.

According to annual figures released by IDC, our market share in Ireland was 37% in 2016, higher than any of our competitors and a 25% increase on the previous year.

Last year was a great year for us after a number of high profile customer wins in the commercial and industrial print sectors including Plus Print, Masterphoto, Impress Printing and Fine Print. Helping to fuel that growth was the increase in demand for our flagship digital cut-sheet colour printing press – the Ricoh Pro C9100 series, as well as the ongoing appeal of the Pro C7100 and Pro C5100 series of light production digital colour presses.

The success reflects our continued commitment to the Irish market. We entered the production print market in 2012 and the following year we which we have been investing heavily in recent years. In February 2016 we opened our €250,000 Document Services Centre in Glasnevin. This year, we opened our new Irish headquarters with an announcement of €6.5 million investment and 110 new jobs.

Speaking about our latest success, Gary Hopwood, managing director for Ricoh Ireland, said: “We are delighted to become number one for production print sales in Ireland. This is a remarkable achievement for the team and is testament to our expertise in Ireland, as well as the quality of our colour digital technology in our portfolio. We will build on this success of our commercial printing business and look to extend this further into the corporate sector. We believe we’re perfectly positioned to benefit from the ongoing digitalisation of the print industry and expect to consolidate our market leading position in Ireland.”

We look forward to sharing more great results next year as we continue our investment in both the Irish market and our customers!
